the onlt time I get oil in water is when I use the heater. Can you tell me what this is?

That is odd because the heater is a seperate unit from the engine. Yes, it works from the coolant heated in the engine, but they don't tie together. Have you checked the head gaskets? Intake gasket?

How much coolant is getting into the oil? Is it just on the oil cap or can you see it when you check the oil?

Because I'm not there, I have to ask. When the temp gets cold outside, then we start using the heater. However, when the temp is cold, there is more of a chance of condensation building in the hot engine. Could that be what is happening? If so, have you replaced the PCV valve reciently?
