Speedometer failure

97 dodge caravan 118000 miles 3.6 engine

Yesterday morning I started my van and noticed the odometer and transmission position did not illuminate.
Also noticed the speedometer and Tachometer were not moving. The ABS and check engine lights were on. Looked at fuses and relays wiggled with no difference. Drove the van for about 10 miles, then let it sit for a couple of hours. Before starting it again, wiggled the ABS fuse. When engine started everthing was back to normal. Do not know if I fixed anything or the problem went away. Drove 200 miles home with no noticable problems. Engine code lights are 12, and 66 and 55 at the end. Any idea of what if happening?

Thanks

Check your connections between the TCM module, located on the passenger side wheel well, and the PCM module located on the drivers side wheel well. The error code indicates the signal was missing. If the connection is intermittant it may happen again. If it does try wiggling the wires one side at a time to see if this fixes it. If it does it will give you a place to start.

I have a 98 caravan 3.0 auto with 157k. I also have the same problem, though it is getting worse, ie. More frequent. Not being a mechanic ( I am handy), what is the TCM and PCM and what do they look like?
