When the engine is cold, the radiator fans run. As a result, the car heater won't start working until the coolant temperature is really warm. Once the van reaches normal operating temp. The heayer works fine. On the return trip, if the engine is warm, the fans don't come on and heat is readily available. I'd appreciate any help. The air conditioner is not on so that's not the peoblem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi:
Check the fan relay. Switch it with another relay in the box with the exact same part number to see if that helps. Also, does the temp gauge in the van work properly?

Let me know what you find.

Thank you for your help. It turned out to be the thermostat.
