2002 Dodge Caravan Automatic

I have a code 601. They tell me the ECM needs to be replaced. Is this the only solution?

Hi:

If you had the computer scanned and the code is for the ECM, it will need replaced. The computer stores information about malfunctions which occur while driving. An ECM can't be repaired.
