Hi my Caravan has been acting crazy, the check engine light came on, the car's engine will rev up then stall at idle or jerk hard while driving. Before all this started the rpm and speed gauge went hay wire but were easy reset by pressing and holding the trip reset, not sure if that has any thing to do with it. Any way I had the check engine light tested and was told my PCM is fired. Is there anything that would cause it to show the PCM is fried on the diagnostic or are they pretty much correct? Please help I have already been "taken" for a fuel pump and don't want to shell out 1,000+ to find out I was lied to again.

There are no codes that say PCM Fried. What is the vehicle doing now?

Here is exactly what the read out I got from Auto Zone says
aa1 shorted input sensor
aa2 shorted electrical circuit
aa3 failed ECM

Troubleshooting P061
Control module run fault.
During power up the EMC detected 3 incorrect checksums failed EMC

. The car will start up fine at times but if it idles for more then 4 min or so it will shut off. Other times it will not start at all, there is a strong fuel like emission smell that was never there before. When I was able to drive it momentarily on my street it sputtered like the gas was not getting to the engine correctly after it would sputter the engine would rev up and the RPMs would jump and it felt like the car would run wild. It also felt like the transmission would kick backwards hard at times. I have always kept up on my maintenance. The timing chain is new, fuel pump is new ( but was not needed)
Thank you BTW

Did you replace the fuel filter at the same time as the pump?

After thought. When the engine doesn't start, have you checked for spark and fuel to it?
