The rear a/c is working fine, but the front a/c is just blowing air. What could be causing this? It was working fine a couple of days ago, but when I got in it today, it seems fine, but the air never gets cold. The rear air is perfectly fine. Is there a fuse or something we can check?

Thanks!

Update - I just went out and checked it again. I noticed that the driver's side is blowing slightly warm air, while the passenger side is blowing slightly cool air. I do have the dual controls. The rear air is still nice and cold. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Update again - I've been researching this a little more and it looks like it could be the blend door. I was running the dehumidifier the other day and switched it to warm air.I bet it got stuck! If that's what it is, where can I find it? My DH is good with cars, but he's not here right now. Will it need replaced, or is there a fix? THANKS!

Ok, looks like there are 2 of them since I have the dual system (numbers 4 & 6 on the picture, correct?) How do we know which one needs replaced? Also, our parts stores said they do not carry this part, so I guess we'll have to get it from the dealer. Ouch! Is there any reason you would not recommend my DH do it himself? He is very good with cars and electrical items, but some things are better left to a pro.

Thanks soooo much for your help!

Its not a job that I would say remove that part and try it
its a lot of work and money to say oo oo ! It didn't work lets try something else
u need to run a diagnose test on it

AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS -2001 Dodge Caravan SE

NOTE: Following procedures were written specifically for use with a DRBIII Â scan tool. Other generic scan tools can be used, but may have limited functions.

SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM
READING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) module is capable of storing active and stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) or DTC/fault messages. An active DTC/fault message indicates that a fault currently exists. A stored DTC/fault message indicates that a problem had occurred in system, but is not currently present. Active DTC/fault messages cannot be erased until cause of fault has been repaired or no longer is present. When an active DTC/fault message is no longer detected, it is converted into a stored DTC/fault message and will remain until DTC/fault message has been erased. Stored ATC module DTC/fault messages can be erased using DRBIII Â or generic scan tool (refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions).
Set parking brake and block wheels. Place transmission gear selector in Park, or shifter in Neutral. Start engine, and allow engine to idle. Using scan tool, check for Powertrain Control Module (PCM) DTC/fault messages present for A/C-heating related systems. If PCM DTCs P0645, P1598 or P1599 are present, record each message and go to appropriate test procedure(s). See ATC MODULE DTC/FAULT MESSAGES index under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
Using scan tool, select HVAC system and check all DTC/fault messages present which are currently set (active) or stored in ATC module memory. Active DTC/fault messages take priority over stored DTC/fault messages. Diagnose any active DTC/fault messages before investigating any stored DTC/fault messages. If DTC/fault messages are present (active or stored), record each message and go to appropriate test procedure(s). See ATC MODULE DTC/FAULT MESSAGES index under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
CLEARING STORED DTC/FAULT MESSAGES

NOTE: Active DTC/fault messages indicate a fault currently exists. Active DTC/fault messages cannot be cleared until condition for setting DTC/fault messages has been repaired or is no longer is present, and ignition cycle has been completed.
Stored DTC/fault messages can be erased using DRBIII Â or generic scan tool (refer to scan tool manufacturers instructions). Follow screen prompts on scan tool to clear all stored DTC/fault messages. Cycle ignition switch off and on. Read DTC/fault messages again. Ensure all DTC/fault messages have been cleared.
MONITOR & SET CONDITIONS

Description

Following list are possible ATC module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) and/or DTC/fault messages, or symptoms that could be displayed on scan tool. Then a description of when ATC module DTC/fault messages are monitored, and conditions necessary to set the listed DTC/fault message. For appropriate testing procedures for ATC module DTC/fault message displayed, see ATC MODULE DTC/FAULT MESSAGES index under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
