I just replaced the drive axles on both sides of my Grand Caravan. I was careful when removing the originals not to drag them across the seals, but now that I have the new axles in, I'm losing transmission fluid at a pretty good rate from around the axles on both sides. Any thoughts on what I should do?

First, check the diameter of the new axles to make sure they are the correct ones for the seals. If they are remanufacturered axles, they may have wear that is causing the problem. If they were not properly checked at the factory, they will leak. If they look good, the only thing you can do is replace the seals. Please remember to prelubericate the seals before installing the axles. Also, since you did it yourself, just be aware that this is a common problem. Once the old axles are replaced, no matter how careful you are, if the seals are not replaced, they always seem to leak.

Let me know.
