Noises problem
2000 Dodge Caravan Automatic

My Dodge Caravan won't start and it appears to have something to do with a ticking noise that is heard when 'unlock' is pressed on the alarm control. When I put the key in the ignition and turn, the van doesn't start. The engine doesnt even "attempt" starting, like there's no engine starting noise. The only noise heard is the constant ticking around the fuse box *under the steering wheel as well as in the fuse box under the hood*. When I close the door and activate the alarm by pressing the 'lock' button on the alarm remote, the ticking stops. What might be the problem and how can it be fixed?

YOU need to make sure battery is full
and if not get a jump and or charge battery
check fuses and relays
check starter
if the alarm arming and disarming I would say its doing its job
battery low will cause the alarm to malfunction

Make sure you check the two battery cable to power center studs nuts. They are under the power center cover- firewall end. They may be loose giving you a bad connection intermittently.
