The van runs great one time then the next we will go to start it and it will not start, or it will run for approx 5 secs and die two or three times, then will not turn over at all. Alarm set light comes on when it won't start and the insturment cluster does not work at all when this happens. Let it sit overnight, and it will start the next morning but run it for awhile again and shut it down and it will do the same thing all over again. Is this in the alarm system that is causing this problem or is it something else? Is there anything I can do such as disabling the alarm system?

It sounds like the security system is causing the problem. If it is a factory system, you need to take it to a dealer. They are the only ones that have the proper test equipment to check it. If it is an aftermarket system, you need to contact who installed it or sells the brand you have. There are so many different types and brands, I wouldn't even know where to start.
