1997 Dodge Caravan Rodent chews Injector wiring '97 Dodge V

Recently a rodent chewed through 2 of my injector electrical lines.. (Injector 1 and 2) ah the Joys of Spring! I replaced and re-soldered the chewed portions with similar. However one of the lines is not working. Having tried to reset all I still get error message 27 "Injector #1 output driver does not respond properly to the control signal"

I then switched injector 1 cable and put it on 2 to see if it works - the injector in one works with cable two - while injector 2 does not work with cable one. - That leads one to think cable 1 is the culprit - however I looked at the cables again - they were not reversed soldered - I then checked with a multimeter and the circuits seem fine?


I'm now totally puzzled - can the chewing have resulted in the ECU shorting out? It seems that they would have some sort of fail safe?

I trust this is a suitable mystery for an eletrical expert! I've spent days seraching the web, but don't see anyone experienceing a similar problem?
