I have a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. The car will start and run when I have my foot on the gas. When I take my foot off it stops. The engine is also overheating. Lights on the dash that tells if the A/C is on keeps blinking. Just changed fuel pump, fuel line, O2 sensors, Crank shaft sensor, camshaft sensor, coolent sensor, plugs, coil pack, catalitic converter, new oil and anti freeze.

It sounds like a bad idle air control valve (IAC) causing the idle problem. As far as the overheating, is the radiator boiling over for you? Did you replace the thermostat? Finally, the flashing lights indicate there is a code stored in the computer that will identify where the problem is with the HVAC system.

Let me know.
