Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Dodge Caravan 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The first problem is that my car will only run 1 time in like 2 days. When it does start I have to immediately drive off and cannot stop at the stoplight without having my foot on the brake and on the gas and pressing the gas down constantly. The second problem is that I go to fill up at the gas station and I can only put a couple cents in the tank and then I have to wait about 30 seconds and then put in a couple more cents and so on and it takes about 30 minutes to fill up the tank.

Has the check engine light come on? When you remove the fuel cap, is there a vacuum? Also, there is a check ball where fuel enters the tank. It's designed to prevent fuel from leaking in the event of a roll over. It could be sticking not allowing fuel to enter the tank.

There is a fuel tank vent (I believe it's behind the fuel tank) that I think may not be working. You may want to have that checked.
