I have a 1988 Dodge Caravan. I'm not sure what direction to go now. I replace an EGR valve, because it had gas going to it and the base of it was broke. And it would start up Like it was suppose to. Then when it got up to temp. It would bog down and die again. After I did that the on board computer was saying O2 sensor was not working correctly. So I replace the O2 sensor and the computer is still saying O2 Sensor. But, their is gas still coming thru the EGR valve. What would cause gas to flood out into the EGR Valve? I'm so confussed.

thanks,

Kyle

Recheck the connections on the egr. If the egr control solenoid becomes damaged or disconnected the electrical signal will be lost and the egr valve will be open at all times during warm up and driving conditions. The symptoms will be poor performance, rough idle and drivable problems. Check all the vacuum lines for split or corroded rubber lines.

I just asked a guy at Car Quest and he said that it sounds like a fuel pressure regulator. Can the fuel pressure regulator cause the problem? I have re-check all of the vacuum lines. I just know it seems like it is dumping gas into the plenum and flooding out.

Thanks,

Kyle

Yes that would most likly be the fuel pressure regulator, when you take the "line" "hose" off and remove the regulator from the fuel rail if you see gas dripping then go ahead and replace it.
