avenger odometer, speedometer, trip counter not working!

hello, i need help here guys. i have a 96 avenger 2.0 4 cyl es model. my speedometer, trip counter, and speedometer do not work, or when they do they count very very slowly , but only sometimes. is my problem the speed sensor, or is it something else? please help! thanks in advance, rick.
