Distributor part

Replaced distributor a little round copper thing fell out when I took the cap off. I do not know where it came from.

Hello,

It sounds like the spring loaded button if the distributor cap came off can you look under the cap to see if it is there and can you take a picture of the part so I can be sure?

Here is the pictures cap and brass ring. Do not think it came out the cap it is a part in the distributor itself.

Good call, that is not part of the cap, that part does not look like it belongs in there. Does the engine run okay?
