Shuts off while driving, but starts right back up?

Driving down the road, the truck shuts off. I stop, put in P and it starts back up. 10 miles down the road it shut off again. 1,000 feet down the road, again it shut off. Each time starting back up. Another 1,000 feet it shuts off. I am on a corner now and I just ease of in a pull off. The truck has been heating up lately, put new water pump in it, but still heats due to a small pin hole on the top left side. So, I am thinking maybe something is hot, so I sit for an hour. The truck starts right up and takes me home (3 or 4 miles). Kind of scary because there are a lot of hills and corners here and no brakes or steering when it shuts off.

When it shuts off will it start on starting fluid? Also, we need to see if the engine has spark, this video would help:

We need to see if it is the fuel or spark problem and then go from there, I can tell you I have seen the thin film ignition module go out often on these truck's, FYI. Please go over this guide:
