Must turn key on and wait about two minutes before truck will start. I can turn the key off and it will start right back up but if I wait about ten minutes. Then I have the delayed start all over. Truck runs good, has an occasional hesitation when taking off but not very often. I took it to a garage and they replaced the intelligent power distribution module, said they checked the fuel pressure, crank position sensor, camshaft position sensor and some of the wiring but each time before they finished testing the truck it would start up so they could never really finish what they where doing. Also, I had already replaced the mass airflow sensor and the vent canister solenoid. It keeps showing code P0448 for the purge control solenoid but I have checked it with a nine volt battery and it works and on vacuum it does not leak so I do not think that is the problem. With just the key on I can hear a high pitched whine which sounds like it is coming from either the ignition coil packs or maybe the fuel injectors. You must listen to hear it. Not very loud. I cannot really check the plugs, injectors or the ignition coils because of Nissan's bright idea to hide them with the intake manifold which the mechanic says has a labor charge of $250.00. Just to remove and put back. All dash lights and etc, work like their supposed to. Thanks, Max

To me it sounds like you have a ignition coil that is shorting out or a PCM that is going bad. I would remove the spark plugs and replace them (it is time anyway) and when it is apart test the ignition coils. Here are guides:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-change-spark-plugs

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-an-ignition-system

Also, check the ground cables from the battery to the engine block and then to the frame.

This is a good one lets get it fixed up.

You are right the intake needs to be removed to remove the coils and spark plugs the book gets two hours to do it, but you can do it yourself by checking out the diagrams below.

Service the throttle body while it apart.

Check out the diagrams (below).

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Thanks Ken, I am in my seventies and have COPD too bad to do much more than brakes and oil changes, but I may take it back to the mechanic to do those things. I keep thinking it might be the fuel pump not holding its prime or just being weak but cannot justify that and am thinking your right in your diagnosis. Also the high pitched whine would back that up. I really thank you for spending part of your time helping the rest of us. If I do not just trade it off and get it fixed, I will post back with the fix.
