This is going to be an expensive repair and it is difficult to get an approximate cost for this repair. We would need to know what the shop is charging per hour, how many hours they are charging you. As for the parts, are they replacing one or both cylinder heads or are they sending one or both out to a machine shop to be repaired?

Looking at our labor guide shows 9.8 hours of labor to remove and replace both cylinder heads. I would guess there would be diagnostics added on top of that. If the RF is asking for 11hrs of labor and say they are at $100 per hour that would be $1,100 for just labor and cylinder head each would be $1,100-$1,300 brand new. Machine shop reconditioned may be the cheaper option. There could be some aftermarket cylinder head that are less cost. But I feel this would be close or closer to the high end of what this would cost.
$3,300-$3,500 around this cost for both cylinder heads and miscellaneous gaskets and fluids.
Hope this helps or answers your question.
