Thank you for answering my previous question about the cost of replacing the cylinder head in my 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport. The shop where my Jeep is quoted $3,000. I had planned on selling the vehicle anyway once I got another one. My question is this, is it worth it to get the Jeep repaired to sell or should I just junk it? I have already put a lot of money into it just to keep it going. I found my new vehicle and it is in transit. I really do not want to put any more money into the Jeep.

Hello, what's the actual problem that it needs one of the cylinder heads replaced? $3,000 is a lot of money to put into something that you're going to get rid of, but I wouldn't junk it for that reason, someone will make good use of the vehicle if you find the right person, they can replace a head pretty quick. If the rest of the engine is sound and the vehicle's body is in good shape. The reasons for replacing an entire cylinder head would be if it's cracked or warped due to overheating, some shops will just install a remanufactured cylinder head if there's a bad valve or issue with a camshaft or if they don't have the time to send out the head to be repaired, so there are some variables here. There is a FB group which is "cars under $4,000" I think the name is, not sure if its local to my location, but I'm sure someone would buy it and do the repairs.
