If it won't start with starting fluid, I suspect you lost spark to the spark plugs. If that is the case, then I suspect the crankshaft position sensor may have failed.
The first thing I need checked is spark to the plugs. Here is a link that shows how it is done:

If there is no spark, the first thing I would suspect is the crankshaft position sensor. If you have a scanner, you could check to see if there is an RPM signal when the engine is cranking and you could check for diagnostic trouble codes which would be very helpful.
The sensor is located on the transmission bell housing, near where the engine bolts to it.
