My car shut off while driving down the road. The throttle cable broke so I thought it was that, replaced it and only cranks. So I took the cover off over spark plugs and see there was oil all around them realized I needed a new valve cover gasket, so got that plugs and wires soaked up all the oil around the plugs. Then changed everything after that still would only crank. I checked fuel pump and that is fine. I have compression but not sure if it is getting a spark or if my battery not getting enough juice. The battery light always on. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If you are getting fuel and have good compression, chances are it is related to ignition spark to the plugs. Here is a link that describes how to check for spark. Do this and let me know what you find.

I hope this is helpful. I will watch for your reply.
