Hi,
In most cases, a crank no start condition is caused either by no spark to the plugs or a fuel-related issue. However, the noise you indicated has me concerned.
Is it possible for you to record and upload it for me to hear?
Let me know. Also, if you want, see if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know it's fuel related. If there is no change, check for spark to the plugs.
Here is a link that explains how to do it:

Let me know.
Take care,
Joe
