From what I'm told it had run out of fuel and towed home. Put about a quarter tank back into the tank and now will crank over just fine but not run. If you cycle the key a good 6-7 times before cranking on it, it will run for about half a second and nothing after. I've gone through all the fuses, checked the valve at the end of the fuel rail (it does have fuel there) but I don't have the capabilities to check fuel pressure. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I could try to narrow down the issue here? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

Sometimes running out of fuel can have dirt or debris get stuck on the fuel pump strainer. Which will reduce the fuel flow.
The only way to know if the issue is low fuel pressure is to check the fuel pressure with a test gauge.
Those fuel pressure testers are typically available at your local auto parts store, and you should be able to borrow/rent to use them.

With the key on and engine off this vehicle should have 52-59 PSI of fuel pressure.

Here is a helpful guide on how to test fuel pressure:

I have attached diagrams below for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

I live in Wyoming, the only parts store in my town doesn't lend out fuel pressure testers or gauges.

Try spraying starting fluid into the intake. If that allows the engine to start, you will know the issue is fuel delivery. This will make the engine run until it runs out of the fluid.

Let me know how that goes.
