So my car I noticed the coolant was cold after driving for a good hour etc, with very little pressure built up as well. I’m not loosing coolant though, as I’ve checked it several times after sitting overnight and it’s always in the same place. I’ve recently replaced the water pump along with the thermostat mainly because it was the original one and the pump bearing went out so I wanted to do it all together. What could this be from or causing this issue? My inside temperature gauge is always in the middle also. Also the lower radiator hose is cold while upper is hot. Heater hose inlet is hot along with outlet hose.

I was planning on purchasing a new radiator cap for my tank to just make sure it wasn’t that causing the issue.

Also in the event I need to drain it completely where and how do you drain the block completely?

We need to start with what the pressure is when the engine is running.

Here is a guide that will help with that:

I am not sure there is an issue. When you are saying the coolant is cold after driving, where are you feeling this? The coolant bottle or the hoses? Your lower hose should be colder then the upper hose as the radiator will cool the coolant and the fact that your temp gauge appears to be operating, I am just not sure where the issue is as it appear to be all working.

As for draining the coolant out of the block, that is not possible on this vehicle. You would drain it out of the radiator or you would have to flush the system using a coolant flush machine.

Please let me know what I am missing and we can go from there. Thanks
