Fast forward months later, I drive the car daily and use it for work also, and I drive to my customer's houses, so I am driving it a lot! One day as I was sitting at a light my employee riding with me started yelling for me to turn the car off, because the temperature gauge was at 75%. After that day it would begin to heat quickly if idling longer than thirty seconds.
Since then I have had the fan (front of car/engine), water pump, thermostat, and radiator replaced. After all these repairs it began working fine, until one day it began to overheat and I turned it off and then the radiator hose blew, so I had the replaced. Again, working fine no problem.
Here we are again, about two weeks ago I was at a light, idle for a little over a minute, and then I noticed the temperature gauge started to go up. When I stop at a light almost immediately the AC gets warm. Within the past week the coolant has begun leaking a lot, or going somewhere fast. I started my car today and the interior "Coolant Low" light came on, so I added coolant to the reservoir tank. By the time I drove thirty miles the "Coolant Low" alert is back on.
Two things I feel the need to mention:
-The thermostat that was put on was the cheapest thermostat at AutoZone. After looking at the description/specifications this specific part stated a maximum temperature, which was lower than any others. Someone stated replacing the thermostat with a higher temperature one could possibly fix the issue.
-The fan was originally installed earlier this year because I noticed it was not working properly and coming on when it should. Once I had the radiator, water pump, and thermostat installed, they stated the fan was not working, so since it was under warranty I went ahead and got new fan. Now it has been noticed that the fan is still not working properly. It is as if the fan is stuck, and it is not coming on when it should.
Please help! I have never had so much stress over a vehicle in my life.
