Had mechanic do a reading on my vehicle. Two codes came up “P0306” and “P0304”. I am aware it is the coil that needs to be replaced. Looking to purchase the parts but online has the option of right, center or left coil and do not know which one I would need.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

You have three coils on this vehicle. The front coil is for cylinders 1/4. The middle coil is for cylinders 2/5 and the back coil is for 3/6. Since you have a cylinder four and six misfire, you need both the front and and the back. Now here is the problem. I question if the coils are the problem. These coils fire in parallel. That means if cylinder four is misfiring, cylinder one should be too. If cylinder six misfires, cylinder three should also.

I question if the coils are the problem. I suggest checking the plug wires as well as the plugs before replacing coils. I am not saying it could not be a coil issue, just that it is unlikely.

If you want to check if those cylinders are getting spark, here is a link that shows how it is done:

I also attached a picture of the firing order in case you need it.

One last thought, other things can cause a misfire such as low or high fuel pressure, a sticking injector.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
