The alignment shop sounds like the better place who might make the best judgement call and/ or repair.
However, I suggest the shop that might specialize in alignments (cars to big trucks). One that is privately owned, long term employees (even family). I am trying to steer you towards mega experience, not employees that come and go frequently.
If a large part is needed, you might obtain it yourself from an auto salvage yard, and take it to them if it is needed.
Many times, a shop like this will give your vehicle a quick parking lot assessment at no charge, so you might gather parts and sorta know a ballpark figure of the cost, before you commit to the repair.
The big thing here is to insure everything is safe. The cheapest place may not provide this feature.
