A/C and heater only works on passenger or drivers side?

Welcome back. It sounds more like one of the temperature sensors for that side has an issue. There are two per side, one in the upper duct and the other in the lower. The best way to determine where and what is the issue would be to put a dealer level scan tool on the truck and see if there are any error codes in the HVAC system. Then hope it isn't a failed upper sensor. To replace those the instrument panel is removed so you can get to the sensor mounted in the duct.

Well the easy way uses a saws-all but it's a bit extreme. Did it say which actuator or give you the part number, there are two on top, one is the mode actuator the other is the temperature door for the passenger side. The mode control can be changed without removing the dash, you remove the HVAC duct over the drivers foot-well and reach up in to remove the two screws from the actuator. It's also possible that the problem is the actuator cams that it moves, that could explain why it works in manual mode. The cams are plastic and have been known to fall off they are under the actuator on a plastic bracket.

Can you see the cam links behind it? They have a bad habit of coming free. The only other items on top of the HVAC case are the temperature control for the passenger side (pic1). But if the AC works on that side then it should be working. The other item is the air inlet actuator, it controls the door for re-circulation or exterior air (pic2). The temperature control actuator for the drivers side is on the bottom of the unit in the passenger footwell (pic3).

If you have dual climate control, it sounds like the blend air door actuator isn't working. The actuator is located under the dash on the HVAC system.

What I suggest is to confirm that the actuator isn't operating and replace it if it isn't.

According to Alldata, with automatic climate control, the left side actuator is located just to the left of the glove box. The directions provide are in pics 2 and 3. In pic 1, I highlighted what I am seeing.

The last thing in in pic 3 indicates calibration. I looked up the process for you and found this for doing it without a scanner.

Alternate Method (without Scan Tool)

Note: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

1. Clear all DTCs.

2. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.

3. Install the HVAC actuator.

4. Connect all previously disconnected components.

5. Remove the HVAC control module fuse for a minimum of 10 s.

6. Install the HVAC control module fuse.

7. Start the vehicle.

8. Wait 40 s for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.

9. Operate system and verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.

If you have a scanner that can read HVAC codes, it should point you in the right direction. As you mentioned, there are several. One is for fresh air / recirculate, one is a mode actuator which directs the air flow direction, and then two for temperature, one for each side.

Okay, there are four actuators. The one you need is on top of the heater case. I attached a picture for you to view. To access it you need to remove the passenger side airbag. It will be visible when that is removed. Make sure you disconnect the battery before this repair.

The drivers side is an easy replacement. I sent you the procedure for the passenger side. Sorry about that.

Nothing to remove but the cover under the left side of the dash. That is held by a couple of screws. The blend door actuator is right there. The correct picture attached.
