2001 Chrysler Town and Country

My engine light came on today. I cycled the key three tines and came up with codes P1684 and 0601. Any ideas if this is serious.

DTC P0601: INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE

Monitored & Set Conditions
Internal controller operation is monitored when ignition is on. DTC will be stored in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory when an internal checksum for software failed and does not match the calculated value. Possible cause for DTC to set is a defective PCM.
Testing
Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P0601: INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE does not exist, test is complete. If DTC P0601: INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE exists, replace PCM. PCM is located on left side of engine compartment, near front of battery. Program the new PCM.
