Hi, I have a 1997 chrysler sebring lxi and the brake lights do not work. We checked the fuses and the bulbs and they are in good shape. I read a post by someone about a brake light switch on the brake pedal. Exactly how could I go about checking it out and where is it exactly on my car?

The brake light switch is on the brake pedal arm. You can check it with a test light. Check each wire, one should have electric and the other not until you press down on the brake peddle, then the other should have electric. If one has electric and pushing down on the peddle the other does not then the brake peddle would need to be replaced. The switch has a plunger and when the peddle is pressed the plunger comes out making a connection in the switch to complete the circuit.
