Blower motor resister keeps blowing

1999 Chrysler Sebring JXi convertible 145,000 km
The resister block for the blower motor keeps blowing and only high speed is available. Works for anywwhere from 3 days to 2 months when I replace it. Any ideas what might cause it?

Alot of times the blower motor will work fine, yet it will short out the resistor. Look into replacing the blower motor and resistor at the same time. I found this problem to be common in different makes and models :D
