1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 5.9L 101,500 miles. Check engine light recently came on. 2 different OBD units said it was due to Output Speed Sensor (code P0720.) Although I felt a very slight delay or skip when the check engine light came on, the car is driving nromally. Is this problem critical or can I get away without fixing it? If I should fix it can I wait until I take the car in for 105k service or should I get it fixed right away?

Thanks for your help,
Scott

When a sensor begine to fail the computer can realize something is wrong fairly quickly. Normally when a faulty sensor is causing an engine code to appear, the vehicle may still run normal for many more miles before the sensor actually fails. However, I suggest replacing the sensor as soon as possible so the sensor will not fail on you at a very inconvenient time.
