This is strange. Once I start the Grand Voyager and put it into Drive the gearshift indicator reads D. When I shift into 3 or L it also reads properly.

Now, if I shift into Neutral, it remains on D even though I'm clearly in Neutral. If I shift from Drive to Reverse it will indicate R properly. Shift into Park and it stays on D or R whichever was the last gear used.

One other thing. After shifting to Neutral or Park, the engine idles fine, but runs rough under throttle. In fact it sounds like it will die if I give it half throttle.

If I shut if off (using ignition switch/key) something resets and it's fine in P (or N if I restart in N).

Would love to know if this is something simple or complex. I feel unsafe in it now as I can't tell if I'm in Park by looking. I just have to feel it.

Is it a digital redaout? If so sounds like the trans range sensor(trans position switch) is going out in it. Thsi can create all kinds of other problems, th ePCM doesnt know what gear you are in, so it has a hard time understanding say 1/2 throttle if it thinks you are in D, but has no speed signal from trans, although it is in N

Mine is a digital read out showing PRND3L.

Would this problem produce any DTC codes?

Is there a range or costs to repair such a problem?

Thanks.

Sometimes things like this dont produce codes due to the fact it is intermittent. My software dosent give a labor time to replace the range sensor, but it says the sensor is around $35
