I just recenlty bought a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE, and I am having a problem with the transmission. Every so often, the van will change gears fine then it will get to 2nd gear and get stuck, then you have to turn off the van and restart it to reset it and it will do fine for a while then it will do it again. What can cause this and how can it be fixed, or is there a way to reset it and it not do it anymore? Please help!!

Your best bet is to have the codes read to start with. The transmission is going into limp ode. meaning it will get you out of a bind, but needs to be fixed. Maybe a a bad speed sensor, TCM off the top of my head.

Make a point to check the air filter on this one as they are often neglected due to the difficulty geting to them.
