I have a 96 plymouth voyager with a chrysler 3.0 engine front wheel drive. The engine was ran low on oil. Now it has an intermitten knock. The knock sounds like its coming from the front (left) head. I could be wrong though. Sometimes there is no knock. But when the engine is reved the knock comes back. at higher rpms the knock becomes a rattle. Any ideas what could be wrong.

I am probably going to need to remove the engine. Due to that and a rear main oil leak. Is it possible to remove the engine from underneath or do I need a lift to remove from the top.

Any help would be appreciated.

The 96 model should have a 3.3 l engine if I remeber correctly.

My guess would be a rod bearing failure.
I have only seen them come out the top.

Good luck with your project.
