I'm working on this car which I was told needed a new body control module. After purchasing a new one from the dealer and having it programmed, I put it in the car. The car will start and run for about 2 seconds and die, it starts right back up but does the same thing again. I've been told it's in theft mode ( which according to the vin number it's not equipped with ) and has no vtd module. I have tried the key remote, used a DRB3 to disable it but nothing works. They say the PCM is in theft mode. How can I fix this problem?

Are you using the original key? Sometimes they have chips in them and the fuel pump will shut down if the wrong key is used, especially if you are using a Chrysler scan tool and cant get it to read any anti-theft. Have you tried locking an dunlocking the drivers door then starting it?

I have used the original key and tried to lock and unlock the door. I've even used the remote. According to the vin number the car is not equipped with anti theft. The can ran when it came in. The scanner says it's in theft mode.

Have you tried a functional test on the anti-theft? Maybe the BCM is wrong for your car
