For months now I have been losing brake fluid. Having to fill it up about every 2 weeks. I took it to my mechanic when I first noticed this issue. He went over the car and found nothing, could not see any signs of a leak. He said for me to keep an eye on it and see if a puddle shows where I park. After months, still nothing, no puddle, no signs of a leak. But still needing to fill up the brake fluid every couple weeks. It seemed linked to the amount I drove.

So I finally took it back to the shop, and this time he put it on the lift with the engine running and was pumped the brake. The brake felt fine. When he got out of the car, his shop was full of smoke. Somehow, not positive, my car is burning the beak fluid. The burning brake fluid smoke seems to be coming out in the exhaust.

Has anyone ever seen this issue? I have asked around and everyone just looked at me funny for even asking, but here I am with the car I love that for some strange reason is burning brake fluid. If any one could shed some light on this that would be so great.

My mechanic advised me that, it most likely dealing with the brake master cylinder and booster. The repair looks to be costly, as he said the engine would most likely need to get dropped in order to make the repairs. And he is not positive to the extent of the issue. The car having 105k miles, I am not sure it is worth an expensive repair. Any ideas how much this could cost to fix.

Thanks for any help or info in advance

Sounds like a bad seal in the back of the master cylinder. This allows brake fluid to get into the vacuum booster, then into the intake manifold.
