my van started roaring about four months ago from the front end i didn't have the money to fix it or it would have been fixed by know, anyway now it roars and at a bout 30 mph it revs up and you have to let off the gas to get it to kick back in gear.then it rolls on down the road. Do you think that could be the drive axles or the transmissio doing all that trouble.

If it's axle (hub bearings) and they are this bad, you should be able to rasie the suspected wheel(s) and grab the tire at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and shake it in and out. Repeat with hands in the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Does it wobble? If so, as you shake it look to see if you can find the loose part(s). Could be wheel bearings (hub bearings), bad tie-rod end, loose axle nut or a bad cv joint (in which case the entire axle needs to be repalced).

Let me know what you find, i'll be able to help further if you need it.
