76 chev g20 van 350 ci auto trans quadrajet carb. Vehicle sits most of the time. Van runs good but if not started for 2 or 3 days in a row has to be primed with gas to the carb. Fuel pump? Best guess?

Hi there.

After car has been sitting for a few days, before trying to start, remove air cleaner and look down in side carby use a torch so you can see clearly, DO NOT TRY TO START. Hold open choke butterfly and operate throttle a few times. See if there is a good stream of fuel from the throttle pump. If little or no fuel, I would suspect a possible faulty power valve allowing fuel to drain away over a few days. Start there.
