what would cause a fly wheel to crack (straight crack)? Trans. Replaced 9-06 with junkyard bought one by dealer. Could they have done something wrong replacing it?

If it's a manual transmission, could be it was too thin, or warped. Flywheels are machined to give a swirl finish for the clutch. If it auto, usually just stress!

I agree. By it being an auto, stress/tension could cause the crack. Usually flywheels/flex plates bolt up only one way. If it is cracked, make sure the next one is bolted down to the right spec and that it is evenly torqued in a star pattern to prevent any binding.
