This truck is a one ton dually 4x4 and has two gas tanks. The fuel pump went bad, so we put in a new one and ever since the fuel gauge is inaccurate. At both tanks full the gauge only reads three quarter full. The pump we replaced is in the front tank. This truck is a dump truck so it is easy to get at both tanks. We thought the new fuel pump was not working correctly so we put another new pump in same problem.Really notsure how the two tanks work with each other to give you a correct fuel level. Thank you for your help. Todd Also, the gauge does go down but not all the way.

Does it have a switch for front and rear tank selection? If so it will have a sender in each tank, when that tank is selected it uses the sender/pump in that tank. When you bought the tank units, did it have any options for fuel tank size? sometimes they have one for a truck with one big tank, but different tank units for 2 smaller tanks

It does not have a switch for the tanks. I'll have to check about the tank size being a factor. Thanks
