The first check is to verify that your alternator is good in the car. Check across the battery terminals with the car running, you should have between 13.5 and 14.7 volts.
If not, before you replace the alternator, check all grounds. Remove and CLEAN battery to frame, battery to engine and engine to firewall.
Check the alternator wires at the connections. Often times a burned connection will upset the charging system. Good luck
