First things first if your check engine light is on then you should get the error codes read off the computer, alot of parts shops like kragen/checker and autozone have ODB II computer code readers that they'll hook up for free. The codes might tell you what your problem is right away or what part needs to be replaced. Post back with the error codes when you get them if you still need assistance.
