I was driving down interstate 2 days ago and my truck began to vibrate severely. Enough so I could not go faster than 45 mph. It doesn't do it in park, only drive and reverse, now at any speed. I have flowmaster duals on it and it now sounds like it is strained or muffled when I drive. I don't know if the two are related, but any advice would be great! :?:

I had a similar problem with my suburban and it turned out to be my wheel alignment. Don't know if this helps, but it's a start.

Suggested Repair

Check the rear U-joints first, since the vibration occurs in drive and reverse but not in park. If the U-joints are sound, have the wheel alignment checked, as a similar Suburban vibration was traced to alignment.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 reported severe vibration in drive and reverse at any speed, but not in park, along with a strained or muffled exhaust sound. An expert advised checking the rear U-joints first. Another owner said a similar vibration was caused by wheel alignment.
