I was driving home at 40 mph when my 6.5 turbo diesel took off, accelerating heavily for no reason. I pushed in the clutch and thought I'd hit the cruise control, engine rpm dropped when I pushed in clutch, cruise not engaged. When I let clutch out again engine took off again, pressed clutch in rpm dropped again. Did this three times and engine died. When starts now engine revs up then dies. Service throttle soon light on, but it shows no codes on code reader I bought. What needs replacing? I don't trust Chevy dealer here, cheated me before.
Thank you.

Sorry for the delay. Also sorry to hear about your bad experience with elocal dealer, you may need to find another one to try or a shop with adequate software to monitor the system to see why the throttle is doing that. If the light is on, the PCM sees something, could be stored in "freeze frame/failure records" in the PCM memory. But if nothing else will be able to watch the sensors with a scan tool to see whats happening
