1995 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 119k miles
Hiya gents! I'm about to be committed to a mental facility over this truck. It has a fluctuating/surging idle that acts up upon op temperatures. Before you beigin with the usual suspects, let me first say the following caveats:
I replaced;
TPS, EGR, MAP, IAC, Throttle body gasket plus cleaned the butterfly, the PCV, a couple of vacuum lines, plug wires, crank sensor, distrib button/cap.
Tests:
I looked for vacuum leaks with choke cleaner, blows with soapy water, and I even adjusted the timing a little. I have correctly "learned the sensor" per specs, and per some advice from other gear heads like me only smartr, looked for air leaks around the throttle arm {and every where else I might add.)
ODD THING:
When I remove the vacuum line from the brake power booster during idle, the engine runs PERFECTLY! This suggest to me that it is starving for air. Although, a PAY SITE told me that I should be more worried about fuel pressure---which doesn't seem to coinside with the air test (power booster) event. Incidentally, the motor runs fine at speeds, but only runs like crappola during idle, and especially a loaded idle (in gear) and will often die when it's not gas-pedal-feathered tostay alive. HELP!
PS I swear on my mother's grave I will pay you a donation if you solve this problem!
