Engine Performance problem
1994 Chevy Truck 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My sister has a chevy S10 2.2, 5-speed. It starts ok revs good, smooth idle But when you take off it will lurch like it has no fuel unless you rev it up then let the clutch out. She has a new fuel pump and filter in it. I think it may be the throttle position sensor. What do ya'll think. I have checked it for vacum leaks so it's not that. Anybody ever have this problem?

Hi:
How many miles are on the truck? Also, have you checked for head gasket problems (very common)?

Howdy,
the truck has 150000 miles, the head gaskets show no signs of failure. I have checked for vacumme leaks etc. The engine is extreemely slugish, I am thinking maybe fuel pressure regulator. The TPS tested bad and I replaced it, The MAP sensor tested good. I don't have a fuel pressure tester or vacumme pump to test the fuel pressure regulator.
The pump and filter are new. There is no check engine light coming on, and no, the bulb is not burned out.
I stiil need help on this one.
Thanks
Doug

Doug:

the fuel pressure gauge and vac gauge can be rented or loaned by most nationally recognized parts stores. Try that.
