Sometimes when I turn my truck off one or both of my tail lights stay on. I am ale to get them to turn off by moving the turn signal switch up or down. Sometimes it turns off one or the other, and sometimes both. It sometimes takes several minutes to get them both off. I suspect it is a turn signal switch problem, but don't know if it is the switch in the column or the switch lever. Please help. Jim

Jim:
It could be the switch or a short allowing power to back feed to the switch. Once the key is off, there shouldn't be power to the switch, so that is what makes me believe there is a short. The next time it happens, move the brake pedal back and forth to see if that does anything. The brake light switch always has 12 volts and the signal and brake light bulb share the same light socket.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
