My driver side window appears to have come off track. I am currently holding it up with a screwdriver. Can someone tell me how to get this back on track. These windows are not electronic. THanks.

Hey Jeff,Good morning, you will need to take off the inner door panel which means the door handle, window handle, armrest, and anything else in the way. Inside the door shell there should be metal tracks that should have notches cut out for you to slip the rollers on the regulator[crank gear] arms into and get them back into the tracks. You may have to take the regulater loose from the door to help get them back in line. It's a pain and you work bind alot but you can do it if you are patient! Key word "PATIENT". Have done this on my old chevy truck "71" but think they will be close as to how they are set up. Hope this helps you to get it straightened out :D

Take off the door panel and see where it is off track. I suspect one of the track braken came loose either broken or the bolt came out.

Replace the screwdriver with a small piece of wood. It will save a broken window

Suggested Repair

Remove the inner door panel, including the door handle, window crank, and armrest. Inspect the tracks and regulator rollers, then slip the rollers back into the notched tracks; loosen the regulator if needed to realign it. Check whether a track bracket is broken or its bolt has come out. Support the glass with a small piece of wood instead of a screwdriver while working.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 1987 Chevy S-10 Blazer said the manual driver-side window came off track and was being held up with a screwdriver. Experts advised removing the door panel, reseating the regulator rollers in the track notches, and checking for a loose or broken track bracket. They also recommended supporting the glass with wood rather than a screwdriver. Another reply suggested replacing the front and rear window clips.
