1987 chevy celebrity 2.8 FI v6. Car will stall every once in a while I can crank it back but it does it agian. Its like it has a mind of its on mostly happens when I am sitting still but it does it going down the road. When I take it out on the interstate and run it about 70 mph for about 5 min. It runs fine then it will just stall in cities : Someone please help me.
i was driving down the road the other day and it shut off and came back on by itself did that like 3 times. What could be the problem.

Check the TCC module on the transmission. There should be a 4 wire plug going into the transmission next to the lower right side of the engine. Unplug wire and drive, if car doens't stall any more, replace the TCC module. Sometimes a sticking TCC will lock the torque converter into in over drive, causing the car to stall at lower engine rpms. :)
